A camp collar lies open and flat, with no top button to fasten, so the neck gets air. The body is square and finishes at the hip with a straight hem that is meant to be worn out. Sleeves end mid-bicep with a plain turned hem, not a cuff.
Because the collar is cut in one piece with the front, it will not stand up or hold a crisp edge the way a shirt collar does. It is a soft, flat collar by design. Press it open, never closed.
