Same waistband as the drawstring trousers - wide internal elastic, external drawstring - on a pleated short with a 15 cm inseam. Unisex and cut generously through the hip, so the pleats fall open rather than pulling. The linen-cotton blend is soft on day one and gets softer.
The pleats hold a sharp line only if pressed; washed and line-dried they soften into a gentle fold. Both are fine. The tan colour is the one most likely to show water marks from sitting on a damp surface.
